ORDINANCE 501

AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PERMIT PROCESS FOR KEEPING OF CERTAIN FOWL WITHIN CITY LIMITS.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTER POINT, IOWA:

 

Section 1. Chapter 55 of the Code of Ordinances is amended by deleting the existing section 55.05 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

55.05 LIVESTOCK.  It is unlawful for a person to keep livestock within the City except by written consent of the Council or except in compliance with the City’s zoning regulations. A written request for a permit to keep no more than 6 chickens (hens only, no roosters) to be allowed within the City may be considered by the City Administration and/or Staff, and, if deemed reasonable, granted with conditions as may be set thereon.
